Red HummingbirdBeginnings I credit my mother, Diana Jean, for introducing me to art. It was her love of the Impressionist painters that was my first introduction, museums the first venue that showed me a whole new world that has captivated me since. My mind exploded with new visions when I first visited the Mexican art wing of the San Francisco Art Museum in 1993, just as I embarked on what would be a year-turned -into seven years - that I lived in Mexico City, from 1993-2001. The masters Siquieros, Orozco, Rivera, Kahlo showed me an intimate door through which I could see a world reflected in art that I connected with emotionally. I have been trying ever since to create art that will touch others in the same way, viscerally, emotionally, in a universal manner. No doubt, a life long journey.
