Catherine Herrera, Director, Flor de Miel Media
Catherine Herrera is an artist who has created media installations, exhibited and published her photographs and writing, and created documentaries. Over the last eighteen years, her work has developed intimately with her experiences in exploring issues of place, identity and home in an effort to grapple with the universal issues of the joy and challenges we as humans experience. Her work is rooted in her exploration of the facets of her multicultural heritage, respecting and weaving in both tradition and the experiences of her generation. The combination of experience has lead to a body of work that is both personal and universal, lyrical and blunt, an attempt to convey spirit of existence to resonate with people locally and further away.
In 2008, Catherine established Flor de Miel Media, an online platform for engaging in the new media community and to develop sustainable business practices as a means of supporting her artistic work and client commissions as a media artist, documentarian and writer.
